Researcher, Cristian Negureanu, sent this explanation for the interest in Planet X or Nibiru.

The real cause of climate changes, volcanoes activity, intensification of the seismic activity etc., is the planet Eris’s getting closer to our solar system, intermediary named 2003 – UB – 313, and known in Antiquity under various names as: Nibiru, Marduk, Nemesis, Hercolubus, the Gods Planet, the Planet of the Empire, the Planet of the Cross or the Red Planet.

Below is a short record of the first (recent) contacts with Eris:

First observed on October 21, 2003 using the 1.22 Oschintelescope, at Mount Palomar Observatory ( California ).

Discovered by Michael E. Brown, Chad Trujillo, David L. Rabinovitz, on January 5, 2005, based on the photos taken at the above mentioned date.

Furter observations published in October 2005 have shown a satellite named Dysnomia (Gabriel).

The planet Eris/ Nibiru periodically getting closer to Earth once in 3,600 years generates numerous climate changes, one being the global warming with its natural consequence – the melting of the glaciers. The effect of glaciers melting, because of their sweet water, will be the ending of the thermo – saline natural system, the “ engine “ that allows the Gulfstream circulation to the North and the freezing of spread areas in the North – West of Europe and North – East U.S.A.

Briefly, here is the process that took place during the last two periods in which the Gods planet has passed between Mars and Jupiter, the nearest point to Earth:

7,200 years ago, during the cataclysm known as “Noah’s flood“, “sudden changes in temperature, violent storms and water avalanches from Antarctica broke off from their ‘ice prison’ Dr. John T. Hollin at Maine University (U.S.A.) considers that large pieces periodically came out of the Antarctic ice field creating a huge tide” (Zecharia Sitchin, The Twelfth Planet).

3,600 years ago, during the Jews’ Exodus from Egypt in the middle of the second millennium B.C., the Earth suffered big cataclysms. “A celestial body that recently entered our solar system – a new comet – came very close to Earth [causing – A/N] the eventual disappearance of the glacier layer“ (Immanuel Velikovsky, “Worlds in Collision“).

The current situation – the Poles glaciers’ melting is accelerating.

The climate and geological changes will increase because the planet Eris/ Nibiru has not even been close to Pluto, its nearest point to Earth. This is supposed to happen between 2012 – 2014.

Nowadays, identical phenomena (global warming and volcanoes activation) also take place on other planets from our solar system because of Eris/ Nibiru. Here are few examples:

The Neptune’s moon, Triton is warming (BBC Science & Technology News, July 25, 1999).

Pluto experiences an extraordinary heating (Massachusetts Institute of Technology News, October 9, 2002).

Volcanic eruption on Jupiter’s satellite Io (Icarus Astronomy , November 2002).

The warming of Mars (ABC News, December 7, 2002).

The warming of Saturn (January 28, 2007, www.interstars.net): scientist of the UCLA (University of California, Los Angeles) –physics and astronomy department and those at the University of Boston have noticed that the temperature of the superior atmosphere of Saturn is higher that estimated. Thus, professor Allan Aylward at UCLA considers necessary the reexamination of the main hypotheses regarding the planetary atmosphere and establishing the cause of the respective heating. He also noticed a similar process on Mars, concluding: “Studying the aspects within other planetary atmospheres will help us to find out clues of the Terra’s future“.

The books already mentioned also include various other description of severe phenomena as volcanoes activation, increasing seismic activity, terible hurricanes, huge tides, Pole reversal, and so on, that happened 7,200 years ago, respectively 3,600 years ago, processes that are more and more frequent nowadays on Earth.

Here are few additional arguments that Eris is Nibiru:

The number of its satellites. Zecharia Sitchin said on them in the above – mentioned work : “Four satellites [they had a rapid rotation movement,‘swirling like twirls’ , three other satellites – The Mad Wind , The Twirling Wind and The Sovereign Wind, using their satellites as ‘assault chariots’, he (Nibiru – A/N) sent ahead the winds, the all seven winds ready to fight.“

On Wikipedia, the search “transneptunian object“ returns other seven celestial bodies, except Pluto and Eris, most of them discovered by M. Brown, C. Trujillo, D. Rabinowitz.

Their aproximate dimensions are:

- Eris: 2,400 km
- Santa ( 2003 EL 61 ): 1,800 km
- 2005 Fy 9: 1,800 km
-Sedna: 1,800 km
-Orcus: 1,800 km
- Quaoar: 1,200 km
- Ixion :1,000 km
- Varuna: 1,000 km

The Sumerian writings say that a satellite of the Nibiru planet hit another planet, Tiamat, creating the “Sky” (The Asteroid Belt between Mars and Jupiter) and the Earth in the beginning of our solar system. Professor M. Brown has recently proved in the journal Nature that the planet 2003 – EL 61 suffered a terible collision with another celestial body at the beginning of our solar system. In the following lines I will highlight the connection between Eris (its intermediary name was 2003 UB – 313) and the Antiquity writings, where the planet was frequently named Nibiru:

In 2003, the year it was first observed (official comunication), the “Science et Vie“ magazine (the February issue) presented the elliptical trajectory of another planet in our solar system, IDENTICAL, with the trajectory of the Nibiru/ Marduk planet previously presented by Z. Sitchin.

In 2005, several mounths after being discovered, distinguised astronomers from 19 countries reunited at the Vatican Astronomical Center connected through the Internet with Astronomical Centre on the Mount Tucson (Arizona, USA) – one of the most powerful in the world.

On August 1, 2005 newspapers from around the world wrote: “The celestial body was given the temporary name 2003 – UB – 313“. Scientists that gave this name to the Nibiru planet were very much aware of the Sumerian writings, as “UB“ meant the seven planets group (3 + 1 + 3 = 313 = 7) consisting of Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto and Nibiru. The other group consists of the five remaining planets (2 + 0 + 0 + 3 = 2003 = 5), meaning: the Sun, Mercury, Venus the Earth and the Moon. Neiter “12“ was a coincidence – the total of the numbers in the intermediary name. The Sumerians knew 12 celestial bodies! The same way Z. Sitchin wrote in his book The Twelfth Planet that the “UB is formed of seven parts, called giparu in the Acadian language (the night shelter) […] There is no doubt that is the origin of the ancients’ faith in the ‘seven skies’“

Eris‘s area, 2,400 km +/- 97 km, measured by using images from the Hubble telescope, was made public at the end of April 2006.

In my book titled The Bible and the UFOs, 1991, based on the data from the Apocalypse/ Revelation, I had given the dimensions of a possible planetary station: it was 2,400 km.

The last book of the Bible contains details on the Eris planet (chapter 21: 2,12,16) called the NEW JERUSALEM (ERIS/ SALEM), togheter with its diameter and area:

a) diameter: 12,000 x 200 m ( 1 stadium ) = 2,400 km.

b) area: 2,400 km (length) x 2,400 km (width) x 12 (levels or floors) = 69,120,000 km2.

The ancient writings also stated the comet – like aspect (comet provoking great disasters) of Eris/ Nibiru, most probably caused by one of its satellites:

a) The Sumerian writings, 7,200 years ago: “A planet moving very fast, on a eliptical orbit, similar to a comet“(Z. Sitchin, The Twelfth Planet).

b) His brightness (Yahweh/ Anu – the Leader of the Gods planet - A/N) is like the sunshine, a burning flame following His steps“ (Habacuc 3 : 4 – 5).

c) 3,600 years ago: “A comet […] came very close to Earth in the middle of the second millenium B.C.“ (I. Velikovsky, Worlds in Collision).

The current situation:

a) Professor M. Brown (details also on www.interstars.net, January 21, 2007) has declared that the planet 2003 – EL – 61 can undergo the attraction of Neptune, transforming itself into the brightest comet ever seen, at least 6000 times brighter than the comet Halle Boop.

b) Eris is expected to pass between Mars and Jupiter its nearest point to Earth during 2012 – 2014. This is the main reason why NASA had launched the Dawn spacecraft on 27 september 2007, which will arrive at its destination, the Asteroid Belt, in 2011.

The logical explanation of the warming process on Earth and on the other planets in our solar system proves to be the one provided by I. Velikovsky, in his book from 1950: “Two celestial bodies have been attracted one to each other. The inner masses of the Earth were pushed to the periphery. The Earth, with its rotation movement disturbed, started to warm“.

On April 25, 2007 it was communicated officially the discovery of planet Gliese 581c, which is possibly to be like the Earth. This is actually Dark Star, which is orbiting planet 581.

The photo offered by NASA is almost similar to that from the cover of Andy Lloyd’s book titled Dark Star.

In conclusion, it is possible to prove the existence of a binarystar system in which the Station/ Planet Eris/ Nibiru is the physical link or “ ferry “ between our solar system and the Dark Star system, between human civilisation and Anunnaki/ Elohim civilisation.

I believe that a psychological education of mankind is in full development. Some clues:

1) The Norwegian bunkers – along with the underground lodgements built in Norway, (Google and YouTube: A letter from a Norwegian politician about 2012) it was also officially inaugurated a warehouse with hundreds of millions of seeds to protect humanity in the case of a catastrophe, on 26 of February, 2008.

The Prime-Minister of Norway, Jens Stoltenberg, also an ecologist militant, Wangari Maathai (Kenya) – the recipient of the Nobel Prize for Peace, Jose Manuel Barroso – the President of the European Commision, took part at the inauguration.

Two statements from the event:

Jens Stoltenberg: “The biological diversity is endangered by forces of nature and by people’s actions; the bunker with seeds is our insurance policy.” Notice that the Norwegian Prim-Minister put first “the forces of nature.”

Jose Manuel Barroso: “We hope and work for the best, but we must be ready for the worst.” No further comments.

2) The bunkers on the moon. Scientists work at a true “Noah’s Ark” which would be located under the soil of the moon. The lodgements should contain information on DNA, embryos, the melting of metals, plants growing and all that is essential for life and civilization, if a catastrophic event would eventually take place on Earth and threaten the existence of mankind. 3) In February, 2008, also came the announcement that Sony Pictures acquired the rights of a new script by director Roland Emmerich. The title of the film is “2012” and will be released in the summer of 2009.

The title “2012” refers to the date when, according to the Maya calendar, the world as we know it would end. Emmerich’s “Apocalypse” is among the movies about disasters, being similar to the movie “The Day After Tommorow”, an international success from 2004. The film premiered in May, 2004, after “The Observer” had made public a report of Pentagon about the dramatic climatic changes, in February, 2004 (Google: The Observer Pentagon Climate).

Notice that starting with the summer of 2009, the moment of the film’s international premiere, the planet Eris/ Nibiru will be seen in the sky as a slightly red object.

4) On the 28 of February, 2008, another news was spread all over the world. Its title was something like: “The Japanese astronomers believe in the existance of a new planet in the solar system.” A few ideas:

The operations were coordinated by the Japanese professor Tadashi Mukai and by the American researcher Patrick Lykawka. They will be published in April, this year, in the Astronomical Journal edited by American Society for Astronomy.

“There is a high probability that a real, still unknown planet… located at the border of our solar system… we are now looking in places that we have not looked before, and I think we will be able to see the planet within the next five or ten years”, researchers said.

This morning, Jan. 23rd around 0359 UT, big sunspot 1402 erupted, producing a long-duration M9-class solar flare. The explosion's M9-ranking puts it on the threshold of being an X-flare, the most powerful kind. NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory captured the flare's extreme ultraviolet flash:

The Solar and Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO) and NASA's STEREO-B spacecraft detected a CME rapidly emerging from the blast site: movie. Analysts at the Goddard Space Weather Lab say the leading edge of the CME will reach Earth on Jan. 24 at 14:18UT (+/- 7 hours). Their animated forecast track shows that Mars is in the line of fire, too; the CME will hit the Red Planet during the late hours of Jan. 25.

The Solar Flare from 1/19/2012

Solar protons accelerated by this morning's M9-class solar flare are streaming past Earth. On the NOAA scale of radiation storms, this one ranks S3, which means it could, e.g., cause isolated reboots of computers onboard Earth-orbiting satellites and interfere with polar radio communications. An example of satellite effects: The "snow" in this SOHO coronagraph movieis caused by protons hitting the observatory's onboard camera.

The Solar Flare from 1/19/2012 Hit Earth on 1/22/2012

The Jan. 22nd CME also disturbed Earth's ionosphere. In Atlanta, Georgia, radio engineer Pieter Ibelings monitored a 4.5 MHz CODAR (coastal radar) signal as it bounced off layers of ionization along the US east coast. Solar blast set to hit 1/21/2012

On Thursday, January 19, 2012 there was an active sunspot that erupted , and consequently a solar flare is heading in the direction of Earth, for an arrival two days later, on Saturday, January 21/21012. The sunspot on the Sun, called sunspot 1401, erupted for over an hour, approximately at 1600 GMT. 

Another sunspot, at location sunspot 1402, occurred also on Thursday. For more on sunspot 1402, please go to Solarham.com. Consequently, a M3-class solar flare and a coronal mass ejection (CME) resulted from sunspot 1401.

Thursday's solar flare rated as a powerful M2-class sun storm on the scale used by astronomers to measure flare strength. M-class storms are powerful, but mid-range, types of solar flares. They fall between the weaker C-class flares and the most powerful X-class solar storms, which can pose a threat to satellites and astronauts in orbit, cause widespread communications interference and damage infrastructure on Earth when aimed directly at the planet.

SDO mission scientists have said that sunspot group 1401 has been unleashing solar flares almost daily as the sun's rotation slowly turned the solar hotspot toward Earth in recent days. On Wednesday (Jan. 18), the region unleashed an M1.7-class solar flare.

A solar flare is an sudden brightening of the Sun’s surface, which releases enormous amounts of energy, upwards of one-sixth of the total energy output of the Sun in one second.


A M3-class is a strong solar flare, with rankings going from A, B, C, M, and X, from weakest to strongest of peak flux (rate of flow across an area), and 1 to 9 (weakest to strongest), where 2 is twice as strong as 1.

Apophis 99942: The Killer Asteroid of 2036

Apophis is an asteroid which may strike earth in 2036, according to NASA. If so, this is the time left to impact.

There is still some time left to prepare.

Latest news on the ‘99942 Apophis’ Asteroid that was predicted to be on a near collision or ’swipe’ course with earth is back on track. The 99942 Apophis’s asteroid’s threat has not disappeared but seems to have newly emerged in the most recent NASA reports in this year - even a competition was held to design an unmanned space probe to ’shadow’ 99942 Apophis in order to figure out just what Apophis might do or is ‘thinking’ to do.

99942 Apophis, having been relegated to a 0 in 10 on the Torino scale threat with a 1 in 45,000 chance of impact on earth, is still held to be the same:

Using a computer simulation tool called NEOSim, it was estimated that the hypothetical impact of Apophis in the countries that are listed above and which are in the path of risk, would have more than 10 million casualties.

An impact several thousand miles off the West Coast of the US would also produce a devastating tsunami.

So, we ask ourselves, what is earth doing about this - especially since we all pay taxes to our governments who are supposed to protect us?

Earlier this year in 2008, the Planetary Society organized a $50,000 competition to design an unmanned space probe that would ’shadow’ Apophis for almost a year, taking measurements that would “determine whether it will impact Earth, thus helping governments decide whether to mount a deflection mission to alter its orbit.” The society received 37 entries from 20 countries on 6 continents.

The commercial competition was won by a design called ‘Foresight’ created by SpaceWorks Engineering. The craft is planned to be launched in 4 years from now - namely, in 2012.

Asteroid 2005 YU55. 11/08/2011

An asteroid slightly bigger than a Nimitz-class aircraft carrier will zoom by Earth inside the orbit of the moon Tuesday, Nov. 8, but it poses no danger of smashing into our planet, scientists say.

The asteroid 2005 YU55, which is about 1,300 feet (400 meters) across, will make its closest approach to Earth at 6:28 p.m. EST (2328 GMT) today. At that point, the space rock will be traveling at about 29,000 mph and be about 201,700 miles (324,600 kilometers) from Earth — closer than the moon, which orbits 238,864 miles (384,499 km) from us on average.

In February 2010 it was rated 1 on the Torino Scale, indicating that a pass near the Earth is predicted that poses no unusual level of danger. On 19 April 2010, highly accurate radar targeting by the Arecibo radio telescope reduced uncertainties about the orbit by 50%.^] This improvement eliminated any possibility of an impact with the Earth for the next 100 years. It was removed from the Sentry Risk Table on 22 April 2010 and as such it now has a rating of 0 on the Torino Scale.

On 8 November 2011 at 23:28 UT, the asteroid will safely pass within 0.85 lunar distances of the Earth. A lunar distance of 0.85 is also 0.00217 AU (325,000 km; 202,000 mi)^] On 9 November 2011 at 07:13 UT, the asteroid will pass 0.00160 AU (239,000 km; 149,000 mi) from the moon. During the close approach, the asteroid should reach about apparent magnitude 11,^] and may be visible to expert observers using high-end binoculars with an objective lens of 80 mm or larger. Since the gibbous moon will interfere with the viewing, amateur observers trying to visually locate the asteroid will require a telescope with an aperture of 6 inches (15 centimeters) or larger.

The Book of Revelations.

Revelations.

Prophecy written in the bible.  Believers of this faith have long thought of the implications of this book.  Are these passages a portent of things to come, or have they already happened?  A biblical Armageddon,  the end of the world for some thinkers, and a rebirth of a new for others.  Yet, what is Armageddon?  The place where the final battle will take place?  The actual end of the world or a simple hill or mountain in a distant country?  

In a dream the events were foretold to St. John the Divine of what was to happen.  He was to send the accounts of the sleep time apparition to the seven churches of Asia Minor.   As a warning?  ?The day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night.? (1 Thessalonians 5:1-5 2, Peter 3:10, Rev 3:3, Rev 16:15).  It would contradict itself time after time, no thief I know of gave forewarning of the mess they were going to leave.  

The seven churches, Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamos, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia, and  Laodicea were to have this warning. 

Repent their sins and return to the teachings of God, or be cast out. The first of many chastisements given in the telling of the dream.  

The corrupt churches would be the first to go in this Armageddon scenario, should such things come to pass in these times, there would be very few left today.  This would affect the religions of the bible greatly, the fall of a church would be enough to shatter many peoples faith, taken as a possible sign that their God had abandoned them.  Others would stand fast in their faith, those who have their faith placed with God, and not the church.

Here would be the beginning of worldly destruction, people who have lost their faith turn in pain to destroying what is around them.  The human element can be just as severe as a mystical or natural one.  

Revelations  5:1 And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals.

Of the images in the bible, The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse is the one that strikes fear second only to Satan.  Famine, War, Pestilence and Death are the biblical cleansers of the world, turning man against man, and nature against man.  We have seen and felt the otherworldly fingers of these beings since the beginnings of time, why should they be feared now, as they seem to be the order of things in life?  At the time of writing the book of Revelations, these things were the worst events that could befall civilization then and now.  We cannot claim that these are the times of Revelation any more than one of 100, 500, or even 1000 years ago, simply based on these Four Horsemen, they have always been here.  Famines in third-world countries, War is in every conflict, Pestilence in all countries, forms of disease stemming from any number of causes, and the end to all suffering Death.  The first four seals bring about the second of human destruction and the first of natural.  Ruthless killing, starvation, disease and Death.

Can these be changed?

Are we given this warning to change our future?  War will remain as long as there are those who wish to fight, Famine will continue as it has for thousands of years, no man can control the weather, or water loss.  Disease will last in the bodies of every cell that exists in one form or another despite the work of scientists or doctors to eradicate it.  There is no cure for Death, it simply is, and shall always be.  

The souls of the righteous dead return to Heaven in the fifth seal.  The reward of supplication to God, to live forever with Him in Heaven. A brief interlude between destructions it would seem.  A moment of peace before the rest of the storm follows suit. 

Revelations 6:12 And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;

The return to the natural disasters, earthquakes ravage the Earth, a massive turning of the soil.  People have lived and died because of earthquakes, but I don't think they are talking about a little tremor here.  One that would shake the entire Earth.  All of the moving plates that make up the planetary shell would shift and crack.  This devastating event would further deteriorate the veneer of civilized behavior,  another every man for himself scenario. But what other cataclysms would such an earthquake bring about? Tidal waves of massive scale. Volcanoes erupting, all at once, trying to release pressure.  Continental land masses falling beneath the waves, or engulfed by another plate of land.  The loss of live would be immeasurable.  All this to occur under a black sun and red moon.  Black sun?  An eclipse would be the explanation for that.  Red moon?  The moon appears red on the horizon at times as a result of heat and water vapors as its light passes through the Earths atmosphere.   We have had many solar eclipses, and have seen numerous red moons, and nothing has happened.

As well in the sixth seal we see that the stars fall to Earth.  Again common occurrence as we have meteorites fall to Earth all the time.  This reference would seem to imply a large grouping of them, as if we were pushed into an asteroid field and Earth has a large target on its face.  As if a massive earthquake wasn't bad enough, we get pelted with space rock on top of it.  The portent of mountains and islands moving from their places, as told in this seal, could be the result of these giant impacts, or of the earthquake(s).



At the seventh seal we see another lull in the storm.  The chosen saved of the tribes were marked and taken to Heaven.  Then there was silence in Heaven.  The next harbingers of destruction, seven angels bearing seven trumpets, and the angel of the censer.  The censor filled with holy fire is cast down to Earth to echo the earthquakes and storms. The first of the trumpeters sounded, and a rain of hail, fire and blood, fell and burned the trees and grasses.  Famine once again, only to the highest extent.   The next angel we see sounds, and a great burning mountain falls to the sea causing a third of it to turn to blood.  This is another great impact in the sea, the meteor/asteroid would probably be comprised of red elements to cause the waters to turn red, also contaminating the water supply, killing marine life in the area.  Some resemblance to red tide, which causes marine death.  

8:10 And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters; 

8:11 And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter. 

The angel of Planet X, Nibiru and many other appellations.  The mythology behind this star is large.  Be it fantastical or scientific, many have watched the skies for this bringer of doom.  The stories are too numerous to mention,  some say that this was the star that led the three magi to Christ's birthplace.  Fitting that it would also be the star of destruction in Revelations.  Wormwood, a poison, also a component in the making of absinthe would poison the waters making them bitter.  Killing the world with its own bitterness wrapped up into a collective ball/star.

The fourth angel darkens the sky, blacking out part of the sun, moon and stars.  The darkness of a major cataclysm, clouds shielding the sky from view as if struck by nuclear winter.  The days and nights shorten as the amount of light is lessened more and more death ensues.  Venturing a guess as to how few people are alive if any at this point in time, it seems now that it is a chalkboard being smashed instead of a wash down.  All traces of human civilization would be completely destroyed and churned under the soil.

Locusts, are let loose by the fifth angel to ravage the survivors who are not marked with the seal of the tribes.  Not to touch the land or anything that is green, yet how could anything be green still on this now hellish planet?  Torture of the unsaved is the purpose of these locusts, not to kill them, but to ensure punishment for five months.  Five months of torture, nothing to end the punishment, even suicide would not end it. (Revelations 9:6 And in those days shall men seek death, and shall not find it; and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them.)  

And the sixth angel blew its trumpet.  Four bound angels released to make war on a third of man, wiping them out with an army of thousands.  With their fire and brimstone breath they are to kill the third part of man.  How is this to be interpreted?  If  by chance the planet is not in complete shambles, and technology is still in working order, would not the fire and brimstone breath hint at an atomic bomb, the four angels being four countries letting loose on each other.  
At the seventh angel the destruction has passed, it proclaims the cleansing of the Earth. 

This angel proclaims that St. John should prophesize to the nations on the Earth of the coming war.  The queen of heaven bears a child that fights for God that Satan, as the dragon, fights to overcome.  The beast rises from the depths of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns with ten crowns upon those horns.  Many believe that the seven heads represent the hills of Rome, and the ten horns the offshoots of the Catholic Church. 

This is the time of the mark of the beast, the number that most people fear, even when getting change from the store.  This feared number when sealed on the forehead or their right hand, is to be the only way one is recognized to buy or sell.  From Implanted chips under the skin, to UPC codes, nothing has escaped the scrutiny of bible readers in their search for this ominous number.  

Why the fascination to find this marking?  

This Six Hundred and Sixty Six will denote the being that will be known as the anti-Christ.  

From the Latin translation: 13:18 hic sapientia est qui habet intellectum conputet numerum bestiae numerus enim hominis est et numerus eius est sescenti sexaginta sex.

 This does not denote a single man, but Mankind.  In the English translations it is the number of a single man.  This translation began the wildfires of who the anti-Christ was is or may be in the future.  Currently the rumors of G.W. Bush, Saddam Hussein and others in current politics have been tapped as this figure. 

The political aspects of the book of Revelations do seem as if they apply to today, though there is the possibility that what we read in the book is a record of the past purges, things that have happened before. The war for the rest of humanity takes place between Christ and the anti-Christ here.  It seems as if it is a political battle.  But it is not, plagues besiege mankind again, poisons, famines and the like reoccur once again.  Quite a bit of redundancy to say the least, like most morality tales from earlier times.  It must be repetitive in order to teach the lesson.  After once again, these things happen on the Earth, another figure appears on the stage.  
Mystery, Babylon the great mother of harlots and abominations.  This woman sits upon the back of the seven-headed beast in a position of power.  She is drunk with the blood of the saints, yet the beast she sits upon turn against her.  She is the great city that kings despise and would destroy.  After much destruction, Babylon is fallen and God claims the victory over the anti-Christ and binds Satan to the bottomless pit for a thousand years. This seems to happen repeatedly it seems as the bonds are loosed after the tenure and cast into the lake of fire.  The return of the city of God, Jerusalem the perfect utopian world, evil, night and death are no more.
